 - Randy Brecker

"Fryer is a stellar saxophonist and has earned a reputation as a player to be watched. "

-L.A. Jazz Scene

"Jake solos after Bud and it's clear right away that he belongs with musicians of this caliber, and that the bebop idiom is as much his as Bud's. Traces can be heard of Bud's influence, and that of Phil Woods too."

- Reggie Marshall - U.S. jazz agent on reviewing Jake Fryer/Bud Shank Quintet album "In good company."

"Fryer comes across as an equally fleet-fingered soloist who serves as a good foil to Bud Shank."

-Mike Shanley-Jazz Times

"Jake Fryer , one of the best musicians I know. A performance not to be missed . With a Five Star Alto Madness seal of approval. "

-Richie Cole
